SKIM800 monitors the insulation resistance of submersible pumps in oil wells.
SKIM800 insulation monitor from Sikcon Technology is a large-scale insulation monitoring instrument for complex industrial power grids and transmission systems. It is used to monitor the insulation performance of the power grid to the ground in real time online. The SKIM800 insulation monitor uses a low-frequency pulse square wave injection method to reliably and accurately monitor the insulation resistance of AC, DC, and AC/DC hybrid IT systems (ungrounded systems) to the ground. Due to various applications, system types, operating conditions, variable speed drive applications, high system leakage capacitance, etc., the measurement technology must be able to meet different requirements to ensure optimized response time and relative uncertainty. This article introduces the application of SKIM800 insulation monitors to monitor the insulation performance of submersible pumps in oil wells through actual case applications.

The 380V voltage passes through the low-voltage drawer switch, the frequency converter, the transformer, and the voltage is raised to 2000V, and then passes through the cable penetrator to the electric pump to drive the motor. The power supply system is an IT system, and the power supply side is not grounded. After understanding the working conditions of the equipment, we choose the SKIM800 with coupler model. The SKIM800 itself can be used in ungrounded systems below 800V, and with a coupler, it can be used in ungrounded systems below 4600V. This model can monitor the insulation of the power system online.
SKIM800 has an LCD display that can intuitively display the system resistance and capacitance, and can set resistance warning values and resistance alarm values. SKIM800 monitors without stopping the machine 24 hours a day, which is safe and convenient. The equipment is currently running well, and the monitoring data is consistent with the manual test data, which greatly simplifies the workload of maintenance personnel. SKIM800 matching couplers are suitable for online insulation and leakage capacitance monitoring of IT systems below AC4800V/DC4800V, and can monitor 24 hours a day.
